Stacey Solomon comes to Sutton Coldfield – George Home Product Launch

You may have heard that Stacey Solomon graced Sutton Coldfield with her presence this month for the launch of her new range ‘At Home with Stacey Solomon’ for George Asda. She landed at their Minworth branch on the 6th February and customers turned up in droves to meet her! Some people even queued for about 4-5 hours in the cold!

I was delighted to be asked to provide the flower arrangements for the launch event where she did a meet and greet with the public and some promo stuff for Asda’s socials.

I’ll be honest I’m not normally a celebrity follower but I’m actually a big fan of ‘Sort Your Life Out’ the TV show that Stacey hosts. If you haven’t seen it yet, she and her team help people declutter their homes and give them a makeover. Having moved house, I need all the decorating and organising tips I can get! I think my biggest take-away from the show so far is to use containers to organise your cupboards to help contain the mess!

When the events company 160over90 first contacted me, I didn’t actually know who the event was for, just that it was a product launch for a celebrity. It was a quick turnaround as they weren’t able to confirm the details until the last minute. They confirmed the event on the Monday and the event was on Thursday so I had a busy couple of days prepping it all! The event company were fantastic to work with and I was able to do most of the set-up the day before (with the trusty help of my mom footing the ladder!) and then go back the next morning to check everything was ok.

They had asked me to include a list of the types of flowers I’d be using so I put together a bespoke quote with a mood board and flower palette including lots of Spring flowers to create a natural/ garden-like feel. Think tulips, daisies and daffodils, just to name a few!

They had 5 islands set up in the entrance of Asda, filled with the new products including a dining, bathroom and bedding set. Each island was laid out on astroturf and surrounded by flower arrangements in whites and yellows to match Stacey’s new range. Each arrangement was created with a moss base to blend in with the astroturf. There were also two gazebos, one as an entrance point and the other as a photo moment for Stacey’s meet and greet. I decorated both of these with foliage garlands and a bright pop of yellow mimosa drooping down.

I was able to meet her for a quick photo after all the hard work and yes, she is as friendly in person as on TV. I get the impression she is a very genuine person and she was kind enough to ask for my card to tag me in her Instagram story and e-newsletter. She really wanted to take some of the flowers home and to be honest with over 30 arrangements on display, I was quite glad for them to go to a good home! Turns out it was her daughter Belle’s 2nd birthday the next day. If you check out her Instagram page you can see the cute pictures from the birthday table she created using some of my arrangements as part of the display!

The rest of the arrangements were given away to the public afterwards which was a nice touch and it’s always nice to know the flowers will be enjoyed for a bit longer!
